SENATOR SCHUMER TO INTRODUCE BILL TODAY DIRECTED AT “PATENT TROLLS”

Last week U.S. Senator CHARLES SCHUMER (D – NY) issued a news release announcing that he will introduce a bill today to crack down on so-called “patent trolls.”  He said trolls are “. . . preying on New York’s technology industry with unwarranted lawsuits—costing legitimate companies billions of dollars.”  IPO committees will study Schumer’s bill. Recent congressional hearings have used the term “patent litigation abuse” instead of “trolls.”
