IPO ANNUAL MEETING PROGRAM FEATURES SESSION ON GLOBAL RATE-SETTING FOR STANDARDS-ESSENTIAL PATENTS
Register for IPO’s LIVE + Virtual Annual Meeting and attend a session on “Global Rate-Setting for Standards-Essential Patents.” This session, organized by IPO’s Damages & Injunctions, Standards Setting, and International Patent Law Committees, will address global rate-setting for standards-essential patents (SEPs) and the use of anti-suit injunctions. The panel will discuss the role of national courts in setting global FRAND rates for standards-essential patent portfolios and in adjudicating damages for patent infringement, where the asserted patents are part of a portfolio whose FRAND value is under consideration by another national court. They will also address the related use of anti-suit and anti-interference injunctions to preclude parties from invoking the jurisdiction of other courts to address overlapping subject matter.
