SENATE IP SUBCOMMITTEE TO CONSIDER FOREIGN THREATS TO AMERICAN INNOVATION AND ECONOMIC LEADERSHIP
Today at 2:30p.m. ET the Senate Judiciary Subcommittee on Intellectual Property will hold a hearing on “Foreign Threats to American Innovation and Economic Leadership.” Witnesses will be AARON BORES (Moen), MARK COHEN (University of Akron Law School), BRADFORD MULLER (Charlotte Pipe and Foundry Company), and KARYN TEMPLE (Motion Picture Association). The hearing will be held in Dirksen Senate Office Building Room 226 and streamed on the committee website.

IPO’S EUROPEAN PRACTICE CONFERENCE ON JUNE 25 IN PARIS TO FEATURE PANEL ON RECENT DEVELOPMENTS AT THE EPO
IPO’s European Practice Committee is organizing a conference entitled “IP Developments in a Changing World” to be held on 25 June in Paris, France. LARS NILSSON (Tenneco, Inc.) will moderate a discussion about recent developments at the European Patent Office. Speakers include HSU MIN CHUNG (HGF Limited), ANN MARESCHAL (Exxon Mobil Corp.) and JIM DENNESS (Abel & Imray). They will discuss current cases before the Enlarged Board of Appeal, including G1/23 concerning whether commercial products that cannot be analyzed or reproduced are part of the state of the art, and G1/24 focusing on claim interpretation.
