BILL INTRODUCED TO CREATE CHIEF U.S. IP NEGOTIATOR

Last week Sen. ORRIN HATCH (R-Utah) introduced The Innovation Through Trade Act (S. 660), which would create a position for a chief innovation and intellectual property negotiator within the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative.  This person would be responsible for negotiating and enforcing strong intellectual property provisions in trade agreements.  The bill was referred to the Committee on Finance.
