The Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys (CIPA) is hosting a half day seminar following IPO’s Annual Meeting on September 21 from 8:45a.m.-12:15p.m. PT at the JW Marriott LA LIVE. Additionally, a reception will be held from 5:30-7:30p.m on September 20. The seminar will give attendees the opportunity to catch up on the latest updates to the IP profession in the UK and Europe. Topics include:

• Unitary Patent & Unified Patent Court, and Brexit Updates: This session will start with an update on Brexit and any changes to Patent, Trademark or Design applications. It will then focus on the upcoming UP & UPC, what you can expect from the court and what it means for your clients.
• Protecting Biotech inventions: This session explores how you can protect Biotech inventions in the UK, covering best practices and helpful tips and advice.
• AI Consultation by the UKIPO: The UK IPO has recently concluded its consultation on Artificial Intelligence, this session will go through the results of the consultation and what this means for the future of AI and IP.
