This timely program will analyze the case law, and the resulting changes in PTAB practice, since the Federal Circuit\u2019s July decision in\u00a0<\/span>Applications in Internet Time (AIT) v. RPX<\/span>. That appeal from a PTAB\u00a0<\/span>inter\u00a0<\/span>partes<\/span>\u00a0review decision found that the PTAB took an \u201cimpermissibly shallow\u201d look at evidence presented by the patent owner about the relationship between the petitioner and another party.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Subsequent related decisions have included two significant Federal Circuit opinions —\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Worlds Inc. v. Bungie, Inc.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Western Geco v. ION\u00a0<\/span><\/span>— as well as numerous relevant decisions by the PTAB, such as the denial of a petition in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Arris v.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>ChanBond<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/span>and\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Sirius XM Radio, Inc. v.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Fraunhofer\u00adGesellschaft<\/span><\/span>, and the granting of additional discovery in\u00a0<\/span><\/span>Kashiv<\/span><\/span>\u00a0v. Purdue.\u00a0<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Our panel includes a former PTAB Administrative Patent Judge who recently returned to private practice and two highly experienced PTAB litigators. They will discuss:<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
