{"id":13353,"date":"2015-05-01T14:12:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-01T14:12:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ipo.org\/?p=13353"},"modified":"2015-05-01T14:12:00","modified_gmt":"2015-05-01T14:12:00","slug":"ustr-releases-special-301-report-ipo-testified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ipo.org\/index.php\/ustr-releases-special-301-report-ipo-testified\/","title":{"rendered":"USTR RELEASES SPECIAL 301 REPORT; IPO TESTIFIED"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">On April 30 U.S. Trade Representative MICHAEL FROMAN released the <\/span><a style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\" href=\"http:\/\/ipo.informz.net\/z\/cjUucD9taT00MzA2MDcwJnA9MSZ1PTc4ODY1OTg5MyZsaT0yNzEzMjQ2OA\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">2015 Special 301 Report<\/a><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">, an annual publication that lists trading partners with inadequate IP protection and enforcement policies. IPO submitted written comments and testified at the Special 301 hearing earlier this year during USTR\u2019s information gathering process.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Trading partners can fall into one of three categories, but this year no countries are in the most onerous \u201cpriority foreign country\u201d category. Thirteen countries, including India and China, are on the \u201cpriority watch list.\u201d According to a <a href=\"http:\/\/ipo.informz.net\/z\/cjUucD9taT00MzA2MDcwJnA9MSZ1PTc4ODY1OTg5MyZsaT0yNzEzMjQ2OQ\/index.html\" target=\"_blank\">press release<\/a>, these countries will be subject to \u201cparticularly intense bilateral engagement during the coming year.\u201d Another twenty-four countries are on the \u201cwatch list\u201d and will receive bilateral attention to address IP problems.
